| Summary | 0001610: Debian Installation fails every time | |||||||
| Description | I install a clean version of Debian no GUI, manually set my INTERFACES file with the proper IP addressing info, test Internet and local connectivity, then apt-get update to be sure. Then I begin to follow the PacketFence installation procedure. Everything seems to be zipping along fine, then a SNORT config window comes up. I try to tell it eth0, it says it does not exist. I escape past it, I see DHCP not starting (probably because it's putting it on the wrong network) and installation fails. Immediately after I examine the /etc/network/interfaces file that I built, and it has been changed and now it has only loopback and eth1, and NO eth0. Is there someway to run the PacketFence install WITHOUT it screwing up my /etc/network/interfaces file? Please help. | |||||||
| Additional Information | Hardware: Supermicro Atom Mini-ITX board with 2x Intel NICs onboard, 4gb RAM, 120gb HD OS: Debian 6.0.6 (2.6.32-5-686) PacketFence 3.6.0 | |||||||

Just for fun I wiped my server and started with CentOS. Ensured the network worked. Followed the pre-reqs for PacketFence EXACTLY. It also failed due to dependencies. Am I doing something wrong here? PS: Windows 7 works fine on it :) |

Obsolete bug tracker entries. PF 4 introduced changes that either make these irrelevant or impossible to reproduce. New issues are moving to github issues. |
